Liger cubs nursed by dog in China’s Xixiakou Zoo
A Chinese zoo official says two rare cubs born to a male lion and a female tiger are being nursed by a dog after they were abandoned by their mother. Cong Wen of Xixiakou Wildlife Zoo in eastern China says four cubs called ligers were born to the lion and tiger earlier this month. She said Tuesday the tiger mother fed the ligers for four days but then abandoned them for unknown reasons. Two died of weakness. Cong said staff at the zoo in Shandong province found a dog who had just given birth to feed the surviving cubs. She said the two cubs had trouble at first drinking milk from the dog but are now used to it. Ligers are very rare and are sometimes bred in zoos by mistake.

This household pet, named Yoda, was born with an extra set of ears. Valerie and Ted Rock took him in 5 years ago after visiting a bar near their home in Chicago, where he was being passed round by curious drinkers. The couple immediately fell for the freaky feline and asked the owner if they could adopt him. He agreed and the couple named the cat Yoda, after the pointy-eared Jedi knight in Star Wars.
Kathryn Bigelow has been actively developing a movie about Osama bin Laden, which will reportedly be fast-tracked in the wake of his death. Deadline.com reported that the film, which was tentatively titled Kill Bin Laden, is based on a real-life mission carried out several years ago to hunt down and kill the Al-Qaida leader.
Deadline.com noted that the film probably won’t be changed drastically despite bin Laden’s death, since Bigelow previously said that “this movie isn’t specifically about bin Laden.” However, the film is “all but guaranteed” to mention his death — likely in an epilogue.

According to “Weird Al” Yankovic, Lady Gaga did not give him permission to release a parody of her song, “Born This Way.” According to Al’s recent blog post, Lady Gaga made him go through the entire production process before telling him that he was not allowed to use it. The song, “Perform This Way” was going to be the first single off of his new album. However, now reports are surfacing saying that Lady Gaga has been busy with her tour and hasn’t even had time to listen to the song yet. A source close to Gaga says she’s in no way trying to stop the release of the song, she’s a huge Weird Al fan. Check it out for yourself and tell me what you think!
