A person familiar with the plans for the Super Bowl halftime show tells The Associated Press that R-and-B star Usher and former Guns ‘N Roses guitarist Slash are slated to make surprise appearances Sunday. Usher and Slash are supposed to join the Black Eyed Peas, who are the main halftime act at Super Bowl 45 between Pittsburgh and Green Bay.
James Cameron was the richest man in Hollywood last year. The Avatar director topped Vanity Fair’s list of the top Hollywood movie earners in 2010 after banking an estimated $257 million from the 3D hit. Johnny Depp came in a distant second, pocketing a mere $100 million from movies like Alice in Wonderland, The Tourist and upfront payments for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Steven Spielberg, Inception director Christopher Nolan and Leonardo DiCaprio rounded out the top five.
Lady Gaga’s rep has called out reports claiming the pop star has an out-of-control cocaine and drug habit. Star magazine cites a supposed pal, who says the singer has hit “rock bottom” and gone off “the deep end,” adding that Gaga “relies heavily on cocaine to give her the pump in creativity that she thinks it sparks.” But a rep tells GossipCop.com that the story is “ridiculous.” Still, the Star insider goes on to say that Gaga has a “crazy room” in her house where she gets high, “writes all over the walls” in charcoal and then gets everything repainted. The insider adds, “The idea for her meat costume was the result of a coke-fueled binge that she went on.”
Gaga has confessed to doing cocaine more heavily when she was younger and has said she still uses it on occasion.
Ricky Gervais says that it is NBC who wants him back to host the Golden Globes — acknowledging that the
Hollywood Foreign Press has no interest in a reprisal. The president of the organization issued a public denial earlier this week after Gervais told Heat magazine that he’d been invited back to the show, despite a controversial performance last month. After the public misunderstanding, Gervais blogged, “The TV show organizers said they were happy with everything and asked me to not rule out a third gig. However, it is not entirely up to them. The Hollywood Foreign Press and various other committees need to meet and agree. I have no idea if they want me back again.”
He added, “It depends whether they care about fifty delicate egos in the room or the 200 million people watching at home who want a laugh. Also, even if they did want me back, at the moment I’m pretty sure I shouldn’t do it. But I’ll tell you this. If they do invite me back and I accept, I’m going to pull exactly the same or even worse.”
Charlie Sheen released a statement on Wednesday, acknowledging the people who are supporting him through his troubles. He said, “I have a lot of work to do to be able to return the support I have received from so many people. I want to say, ‘Thank-you’ to my fellow cast members, the crew of Two and a Half Men, and everyone at CBS and Warner Bros. for their concern and support.”
Sheen began a personalized treatment program last weekend after he was hospitalized last week. Two and a Half Men is currently on hiatus as a result.
