July 31  Thousand Islands Playhouse Showing
  Blood Brothers will be playing at the Thousand Islands Playhouse in the Springer Theatre from Thursday, June 17 to Saturday, July 31 with start times of 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The musical has a contemporary nature vs. nurture plot, revolving around fraternal twins who are separated at birth. The twins� different backgrounds take them to opposite ends of the social spectrum, one becoming an Oxbridge-graduated councilor and the other unemployed and imprisoned. Both fall for the same girl, with tragic circumstances.

  Fulford Place invites you to explore the world of Beatrix Potter and her friends during our annual two-day children's program. If your kids love animals and enjoy a good story set in Victorian England, they are in for a treat with "The Timeless Tales of Beatrix Potter." During this fun-filled program, children will engage in Victorian games, arts and crafts, creative writing and story-telling. Snacks and beverages will also be provided.

The two-day program takes place on Wednesday July 28 and Thursday July 29, 2010, from 9 a.m. to noon. For both days, tickets are $15 (+ HST). The program is suited to children aged 6 to 12 and early registration is recommended.

  There's a corn roast at the Forfar community centre from 4 until sold out. Sponsored by Simpson Masonic Lodge with all proceeds to assist in bursaries at Rideau District High School.   The Pier Christian Church is holding an outdoor service at Hardy Park where Ribfest will be located.Look for them at the Pavilion.   The Ndxt 5 km race is August 8th with registration at 8 am on Ferry Street across from the Rowing Club. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers of each age categry. August 10  “Unity Savings Presents Outdoor Family Movie Night
  Unity Savings will host a Family Movie Night under the Stars event on Tuesday August 10th, in partnership with the Brockville and District Association for Community Involvement.

The event will take place at the site of Westminster School on Central Avenue starting at dusk, with a film projected on a three-story high inflatable screen. Members of the Brockville community and surrounding areas are welcome to attend, and are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and to dress accordingly for the weather. If heavy rain occurs, the event will be postponed to a later date (TBD).

We will be featuring one of the biggest animated family-friendly movies of 2010. The outdoor movie event offers FREE admission. Good-will donations will be accepted and will support BDACI, which assists people and families of those with intellectual disabilities, and assists the Brockville community in offering people equal opportunities, full participation, respect and value as individuals.

In addition, a concession stand will be open and will accept minimal donations for refreshments and snacks, also in support of BDACI. Families and community members are invited to come out and enjoy a free outdoor showing of a great family movie.

  If you're looking for an eerie, hair-raising, fear inducing way to beat the summer heat, join us at Fulford Place for an evening of creepy, lantern-guided tours of the mansion. What mysteries will you encounter at the mansion? Are you brave enough to find out? This spooky summer thrill will take place on Wednesday August 11th with the first tour leaving at 6:30 pm.
